Johnson's Paint trophy
Or whatever they call it these days. Seems we've entered our academy team in it for this coming season. Where will we play the home games, the OS? Rush Green wouldn't be adequate to house a potential few thousand home and away fans would it?

The 16 groups are split regionally. Presumably, they've be broken up into a North/South split.

Gives us a 1/8 chance of playing 'wall.

Don't think it will kill it at all. The gates these clubs get are awful, mostly 3k plus. The chance to visit different clubs will give it a life, TV will be all over it too.

If a league 1 or two team that wants to win it cant beat a 21's side then they dont deserve to get to Wembley

Re: Johnson's Paint trophy
Apparently the 16 academy clubs have to forfeit their 45% share of the gate receipts during the group stage and only get 25% during the knockout stage.

Woodford - absolutely agree. It could kill the tournament.

Re: Johnson's Paint trophy
It seems like a good idea but IMO it would it be a shame to see the likes of a Chelsea / Manchester City (dare I say even West Ham) academy team denying a lower league club a Wembley final which was kind of the point of a competition like this.

Actually think that's a superb idea from the FA (well if it was their idea), to get youngsters from the prem teams playing proper competitive football.
